NOTD: OPI My Private Jet

I bought this color a few months ago after hearing the incomparable Scrangie raving about it in an old post somewhere on her blog.  I left it in my stash unused until today and OMG.  I’m so in love with this color.  I can’t even describe what this is supposed to be. Sometimes it’s violety, other times it’s brown.  the multi colored micro glitter is a thing of beauty.  I kind of can’t stop looking at it.  I don’t even want to take a picture of it because I know I can’t do it justice.  I haven’t even seen it in daylight yet (it’s 10 PM here and my apartment does not get good light at all) and I can’t wait!

Here’s a pic with flash that shows off the multicolored micro glitter:

Throwback Thursday NOTD: OPI Titan Your Toga

Posted in NOTD, OPI, Throwback Thursday on January 7, 2010 by ainamakeup

I discovered this color several years ago.  It was originally part of the Greek Isles Collection.  I don’t think I was even aware OPI had started making themed collections back then.  All I knew was I fell in love with this shimmery moon white shade.  I rocked this shade constantly back in the mid to late 90’s. I’m so afraid I’ll never find ever find it again that I save it and only wear it  now and then.  I’d love to see OPI bring this baby back!  Everyone’s into greens, grays and blacks and blues, but I think this polish looks just as chic and sophisticated as anything that’s hot now.

NOTD: Sephora by OPI, 212 Sephora

While I may have my makeup compulsive shopping under control (somewhat), I haven’t been able to curb my desire for new nail polish.  I think the last time I’d went on a nail polish binge was last fall when the OPI France collection came out and I fell in love with so many of the colors.  I’m definitely making up for lost time, though.

I stopped in Sephora a while ago and checked out some of the Sephora by OPI colors.   I picked up, among a few others is 212 Sephora.  This is a black with multicolored glitter.  It looks like a New Years Eve party on my nails.  In fact, 212 Sephora just might be my NYE nail color!

NOTD: Zoya Loredana

Posted in Gray, NOTD, Zoya on December 10, 2009 by ainamakeup

I am new to Zoya and I took advantage of their Green Friday sale.  In addition to my first bottle of Remove+ and all the greens that I received for FREE (you’ll be seeing those on this site very soon!) I chose a color I’ve been Lemmining ever since I saw the swatches on the amazing Scrangie’s blog.  Loredana, from the Fall Matte Velvet collection is a really nice shade of medium gray with shimmer.  I swatched it both matte and with a glossy topcoat and I like it both ways.  Gray polish is so my Thing!

NOTD – China Glaze Wagon Trail

Posted in China Glaze, NOTD on November 25, 2009 by ainamakeup

Hola Lacquerholics!!!

I know it’s been a few days since I’ve posted but that’s because I had a gig doing a film shoot for a web series.  We put in 4 twelve-hour days so I had no time.  I even went a few days without any polish on my nails!!!  Oh the horror!

I ordered a big haul of China Glaze polishes that I’d missed out on in my haze of being out of the polish loop.  I was lucky enough to be able to still buy them and for normal prices! The one I was most excited about is Wagon Trail from the China Glaze Rodeo Diva Collection.  And here it is!!!

China Glaze Wagon Trail I wish I had more opportunity to do outdoor shots but between working all day and it being overcast as of late, I just haven’t been able to do it.  Oh and ignore the bad polish job.  I was delirious as it was 2 in the morning when I took this.  I’ll be doing more China Glaze “jumping on the bandwagon” posts in the coming days.  I just love these polishes!!!

NOTD – China Glaze Recycle

It seems as though I was the last to know about this fabulous gray shade from China Glaze.  I may be late to the party, but I’m here!  I really like this color and I generally love China Glaze formulas and am kinda kicking myself for not discovering this brand earlier.  The reason being, in NYC, there isn’t much direct access to China Glaze polishes as they are only sold at Sally Beauty Supply and the closest one to me is way out in Brooklyn or just over the Holland Tunnel in NJ.  I get there whenever I can to check out the new collections.

This will be one of many China Glaze catch up posts as I recently bought quite a few essential (IMO) shades I didn’t have.  Have a great day, everyone!!!
